Job Title: Barista Location: Ecusta Market & Cafe, Hendersonville, NC Employment Type: Part-Time (15-20 hrs/week), Nights & Weekends Required. Must be 18 years or older to apply. Compensation: Base Pay + Tips = guaranteed $18.00/hr (Range of $18 - $25+/hr) About Us Ecusta Market & Cafe is a neighborhood grocery and café located on the Ecusta Trail in Hendersonville, NC. We focus on high-quality, locally sourced goods and an exceptional café experience. Our baristas play a key role in creating a welcoming space where customers enjoy expertly crafted coffee, made-to-order drinks, and warm hospitality. Position Overview We are looking for skilled baristas with prior experience in a fast-paced coffee shop or cafe environment. A successful candidate will be highly efficient, detail-oriented, and passionate about coffee and customer service. The role requires availability for evening and weekend shifts. Since we'll also be serving beer and wine, we prefer baristas who have knowledge of craft beer and wine or a genuine interest in learning more. Responsibilities Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, brewed coffee, and other café beverages with speed and precision. Pour draft beer and glasses of wine for guests. You will be required to learn tasting notes on all of our craft beverages. Provide excellent customer service, engaging with guests in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment. Keep the café area clean, organized, and well-stocked. Handle cash, process payments, and operate the POS system efficiently. Assist with basic food prep, including plating and packaging baked goods or grab-and-go items. Work collaboratively with teammates to ensure smooth service during peak hours. Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitation practices. Qualifications Required: Prior barista experience in a high-volume coffee shop or café. Passion for local, organic, and sustainable products. Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills. Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and coffee preparation techniques. Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and weekends. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
