TGC Talent is partnering with a leading Am Law 100 firm to recruit an experienced Conflicts Attorney to join its Risk & Compliance team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with professional responsibility rules by evaluating and resolving conflicts of interest, advising attorneys on ethical matters, and supporting the firm's conflicts and new business intake processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal ethics, exceptional analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to manage complex conflicts matters within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Review and manage conflicts of interest arising from new clients, new matters, lateral hires, and other firm engagements. Conduct comprehensive conflicts analyses utilizing internal conflicts systems and external research databases. Analyze conflicts reports to identify legal, ethical, business, and risk management issues. Research corporate structures, affiliated entities, ownership relationships, and organizational hierarchies to support conflicts analysis. Draft, review, and implement conflict waivers, engagement letters, and ethical screens (ethical walls), as appropriate. Advise attorneys and firm leadership regarding conflicts of interest, professional responsibility obligations, and applicable Rules of Professional Conduct. Recommend practical conflict resolutions while balancing legal, ethical, and business considerations. Collaborate with attorneys, General Counsel, Risk & Compliance, and business professionals to resolve conflicts efficiently. Support the firm's new business intake process by reviewing and evaluating new client and matter requests. Identify and escalation complex ethical issues and high-risk matters requiring additional legal review. Maintain accurate documentation of conflicts analyses, waivers, approvals, and related communications. Assist with developing and improving conflicts management policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide guidance and training to attorneys and staff regarding conflicts procedures, legal ethics, and professional responsibility. Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call support, as required. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active admission to at least one U.S. State Bar. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Conflicts, Professional Responsibility, Ethics, Risk & Compliance, or New Business Intake within a large law firm. Demonstrated knowledge of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and conflicts of interest principles. Experience analyzing complex legal conflicts and providing practical, business-focused recommendations. Strong legal research, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to exercise sound judgment while managing confidential and sensitive information. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
