Job Title: SAP BASIS S/4HANA Archiving Consultant.
Location: Dallas, TX.

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced SAP BASIS S/4HANA Archiving Consultant to design, implement, and manage data archiving strategies for S/4HANA landscapes.
• The role focuses on reducing database size, optimizing system performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting long-term data retention using SAP standard archiving tools and external storage solutions.
• The consultant will work closely with functional teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and compliant archiving solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Archiving Strategy & Design:

• Design and implement SAP data archiving strategies for S/4HANA systems.
• Define housekeeping and data volume management (DVM) approaches.
• Analyze data growth trends and recommend proactive archiving solutions.
• Align archiving strategy with business, legal, and compliance requirements.

SAP Archiving Implementation:

• Configure and manage SAP Archive Development Kit (ADK).
• Execute archiving objects using transactions such as:
  • SARA.
  • SPRO.
  • DBACOCKPIT.
• Manage archiving for key SAP modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM, etc.).
• Support ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) concepts where applicable.

S/4HANA-Specific Responsibilities

• Handle S/4HANA data aging and achieving concepts.
• Manage archiving for Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and logistics tables.
• Support database optimization for SAP HANA (in-memory).
• Work with HANA-native tools for performance analysis related to archived data.

Storage & Integration:

• Configure and integrate external archive storage solutions (e.g., content servers, cloud storage, third-party archive systems).
• Ensure accessibility, retrieval, and audit-readiness of archived data.
• Monitor storage utilization and cost optimization.

Testing, Monitoring & Support:

• Execute end-to-end testing for archiving processes.
• Monitor background jobs and batch processes related to archiving.
• Perform issue analysis and troubleshooting.
• Provide production support during archiving cycles.
