Staff Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team at our facility in Highland Heights, Ohio. This role involves working closely with the Controller to manage crucial accounting functions and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Perform closing processes for month-end according to deadlines.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support the Controller in key accounting functions, including inventory valuation, excess and obsolescence reserve calculations, monthly inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, and coordination of annual physical observations.
• Assist in the month-end close process by providing analysis of results as guided by the Controller.
• Manage fixed assets by tracking and recording monthly capital expenditures, properly capitalizing PP&E, and monitoring CAPEX for cash flow spend by project.
• Focus on continuous improvement by proactively identifying and implementing enhancements to workpapers and processes, aiming to reduce inefficiencies and increase accuracy, integrity, and productivity.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2-4 years of experience as a staff accountant.
• Experience with reconciliations and the month-end close process.
• Proficiency in basic accruals and standard journal entries.
• Experience in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and 3-way matching.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
