Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist – DOT & Operations

Location: West Sacramento

Employment Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Human Resources Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Human Resources team in West Sacramento! This role is heavily focused on recruiting DOT-regulated commercial drivers (Class A & B CDL) as the top priority, while also supporting administrative and operational hiring needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong track record of sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified commercial drivers.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position plays a critical role in shaping hiring strategies, building strong talent pipelines, and supporting company growth. If you’re someone who can work independently, influence hiring decisions, and deliver results, this opportunity is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting with a primary focus on hiring DOT-regulated commercial drivers (Class A & B CDL) across multiple locations, while supporting additional operational and administrative roles as needed
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop and execute targeted recruiting strategies, prioritizing commercial driver staffing needs
  • Source qualified CDL drivers through job boards, industry networks, referrals, and recruiting events, while supporting sourcing efforts for other roles
  • Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates, with a strong emphasis on assessing DOT qualifications and driver experience
  • Manage pre-employment processes for driver hires, including compliance requirements, and coordinate onboarding
  • Maintain ATS records, job postings, and candidate pipelines, ensuring strong driver talent pipelines are continuously built and maintained
  • Analyze recruiting metrics, with a focus on driver hiring trends and challenges, and recommend process improvements
  • Represent the company at job fairs, site visits, and community events, with a primary focus on driver recruitment outreach
  • Provide regular hiring updates and recruitment reports to leadership, highlighting progress and needs related to commercial driver hiring

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of talent acquisition experience (logistics/driver recruiting preferred)
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and CDL hiring requirements (Class A & B)
  • Strong ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Experience with ATS systems and recruitment platforms
  • Experience using Tenstreet or similar driver recruiting/onboarding systems is a plus
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights

Work Environment & Schedule

  • On-site in West Sacramento
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Travel to sites, job fairs, and recruiting events as needed
  • Occasional weekends based on hiring needs
