Cheyenne Ave Lame Deer, MT 59043 Client: Indian Health Service Job Summary The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) provides comprehensive laboratory testing and specimen collection services to support patient care within the Billings Area Indian Health Service (BAIHS). The role involves performing diagnostic testing, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with federal and clinical standards. Work Schedule Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (coverage window; shifts assigned by supervisor) Closed on federal holidays Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines: Clinical chemistry Hematology & coagulation Microbiology Blood bank & serology Urinalysis & molecular testing Collect specimens via venipuncture, capillary, and arterial methods Prepare and process samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.) Operate laboratory equipment (analyzers, microscopes, centrifuges) Review, verify, and report patient test results Perform quality control, calibration, and maintenance of lab equipment Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with lab standards Interact with diverse patient populations (newborn to elderly) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field Certification meeting CLIA requirements (e.g., ASCP or equivalent) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Experience Required Experience as Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Lab Technician II/III Proficiency across multiple lab disciplines required Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy in testing/reporting Ability to work independently and in a team environment Proficiency with laboratory equipment and systems Strong communication and patient interaction skills About Encode INC At Encode, we empower organizations and individuals through innovative, human-centric workforce and technology solutions.
