The Position Registered Dental Hygienists provide on‑site hygiene services and collaborate with dental professionals, clinical coordinators, and facility staff to meet patient and facility needs. The role is part‑time, working two days per week, with travel to nursing homes ranging from 20 minutes to 2.5 hours. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Review patient lists prior to each visit and ensure all supplies and equipment are available. Arrive on time, check in with the dental contact, and review the patient list to be seen. Transport, set up, and take down equipment and supplies in the designated facility workspace. Coordinate patient and chart transfer with nursing home contacts; if necessary, request assistance from the clinical support manager. Perform required care including X‑rays, dental cleaning, denture care, sealant application, and oral health assessment; report findings to the dentist, following ADA and company standards of care. Explain procedures to patients during treatment and follow up with facility staff on recommendations. Enter chart notes into Salesforce at the time of treatment. Maintain OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations during patient treatment. Handle disposables correctly before leaving facilities. Check out with the dental contact at the facility, review chart notes, and leave printed copies of chart notes with patient charts. Collaborate with the clinical support manager on scheduling and follow‑up of patient care and treatment. Maintain dental equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance routines. Inventory supplies and order as needed. Follow regulated OSHA guidelines for sterilization of instruments. Use personal vehicle for transportation of equipment, supplies, and travel to scheduled facility visits. Be available via cell phone during the workday. Expense purchases for office and unforeseen supply needs and submit reimbursement requests. Location & Travel Travel between sites is required, ranging from 20 minutes to 2.5 hours. Travel time over 30 minutes each way is compensated, and mileage is reimbursed for all miles driven. Requirements Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing and a minimum of five years’ experience. Valid driver’s license with no moving violations in the last five years. Own reliable transportation. Ability to push/pull approximately 200 lbs. (e.g., patients in a wheelchair). Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. in and out of a vehicle. High school diploma or equivalent. Other Qualifications Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with nursing home staff. Proficient computer skills for logging chart notes during visits. Strong organizational skills to manage supplies and schedules. Capacity to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
