The facility is seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join its growing Urgent Care team in Bronx, New York . This is a full-time opportunity. The role focuses on providing high-quality, timely care for patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries while ensuring efficient patient flow and coordinated care within a fast-paced urgent care environment.
Essential Position Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history, physical examinations, and urgent care assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and minor injuries such as respiratory infections, fever, lacerations, sprains, fractures, and minor burns.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, X-rays, and point-of-care testing.
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and other urgent care interventions within scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide follow-up care instructions.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medication use, preventive care, and when to seek further medical attention.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure efficient and coordinated patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists or emergency services when higher levels of care are required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Qualifications

Education:
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Certification:
Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP or Adult-Gerontology NP) from a recognized certifying body.

Licensure:
Active or eligible Nurse Practitioner license in New York.

DEA registration (or eligibility).

Experience:
Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or primary care preferred.

New graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.
