Project ManagerBAE Systems is seeking Project Managers to support the Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). BAE Systems' SSP team provides support to our country's most important nuclear deterrent program, the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Program. Join us in ensuring continued exceptional Product Support for the current Strategic Weapons System (SWS) and future weapon system development, production and deployment.As a program project manager, you represent the technical program managers and staff to liaison with the Program Management Office (PMO) in the following activities:Cost Management:Create, provide, and maintain annual Basis of Estimates and recommend a Work Package and program Work Breakdown Structure to align with and capture the technical work to be performedUnderstand and use Earned Value Management (EVM) techniquesProvide process feedback and report project performance to the Technical Managers and PMO Cost Control ManagerSchedule Management:Ensure technical program compliance with baseline change control processesLiaison with planners to maintain an accurate Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)Provides schedule status reports to meet technical staff guidelinesProvide process feedback and report project performance to the Technical Managers and PMO Schedule ManagerRisk Management:Identify technical risk and make recommendation to the technical staff to establish and track technical mitigation plansCommunicate internal and external risks and appropriate mitigations to applicable stakeholdersProvide process feedback and report project performance to the Technical Managers and PMO Risk ManagerQuality Management:Coordinate and lead technical staff preventive action process reviews and corrective action planning and implementationRepresent the technical Program Area Rep to resolve all quality related itemsProvide process feedback and report project performance to the Technical Managers and PMO Quality ManagerAs a decades long sole source partner on multiple contracts on behalf of our customer, our program has remarkable stability and is concurrently experiencing significant growth. Combined, these factors provide ample opportunity for professional growth and development for capable and talented individuals on our team.About the program Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Program (SSP) continually since the program's inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system, and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and as the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation's nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a truly unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor's degree in STEM and 6 years related/relevant work experience or equivalent education and years of related/relevant work experience required. Additional skills/experience required:Must have experience in a technical background in a DoW EnvironmentExperience as a project liaison between technical staff and PMOExperience in organizing team taskingExperience developing and implementing return to green analysesAbility to adapt to internal and external project changesAbility to anticipate and communicate customer requirementsFamiliarity with project lifecycleSuperior communication and presentation skillsBe an agile thinker with the ability to move between planning and program implementationProficient knowledge of the SharePoint, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, advanced functions in Excel, and ProjectPreferred Education, Experience, & SkillsCertified Project Management ProfessionalExperience in a project management positionFamiliarity with Level of Effort (LOE) service contractsFamiliarity with Microsoft Power BIFamiliarity with Microsoft ProjectPay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
