Job Description
Our client is seeking a 5-7 years experienced Trusts & Estates Attorney to join their team, handling probate, estate planning, Medicaid planning, guardianships, and Surrogate's Court matters.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage matters in Surrogate's Court, probate, administration, fiduciary support, and guardianship proceedings (Article 81).
Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare proxies, petitions, motions, and estate planning documents.
Meet with clients, conduct consultations, and provide timely updates on case progress.
Appear in court when required, including Mental Hygiene Court for guardianship matters.
Conduct legal research, manage deadlines and files in CMS, and participate in weekly and monthly case reviews.
Qualifications:
Licensed in New York or New Jersey (dual admission strongly preferred).
5-7 years of experience in probate, estate planning, guardianships, and Surrogate's Court matters.
Experience with Medicaid planning, elder law, and special needs planning.
Strong litigation experience and ability to appear in court is a plus.
Organized, proactive professional comfortable handling clients and managing multiple matters.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary depending on experience.
Temp-to-perm role with a 90-day probationary period.
Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote).
