Interior/furniture Designer

Location: New York, NY

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Project Designer to join a dynamic architectural interiors and workplace solutions team. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented design professional with experience in workplace interiors, commercial furniture systems, and architectural design solutions.

Candidates with experience working with MillerKnoll, Knoll, Herman Miller, or similar commercial furniture systems , along with proficiency in CET .

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop architectural wall and workplace interior designs based on client requirements, architectural drawings, sketches, and project specifications.
• Utilize CET Designer (Configura CET) to create furniture layouts, space plans, design documentation, and project visuals.
• Create detailed Revit models, 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and construction/submittal drawing packages .
• Translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings and construction documents.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation for coordination and accuracy.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Assist with defining project scope, technical requirements, and design objectives.
• Evaluate site conditions and construction requirements to develop practical design solutions.
• Prepare project documentation, spreadsheets, diagrams, and design presentations.
• Coordinate design updates and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide regular project status updates and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in commercial furniture design, workplace interiors, architectural walls, or interior construction projects .
• Hands-on experience with MillerKnoll, Knoll, Herman Miller, or comparable commercial furniture systems .
• Strong working knowledge of CET Designer (Configura CET) for furniture planning, space layouts, and design documentation.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit with experience creating architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, details, and 3D models.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, BIM tools, and other design software is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction documents, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, and job site conditions.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with workplace strategy, corporate interiors, or commercial furniture solutions.
• Experience managing Revit models, including loading families, version control, and model-sharing practices.
• Experience reviewing architectural coordination drawings and submittal packages.
• Ability to troubleshoot design and technical challenges effectively.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies to improve design and construction workflows.
