Security & deployment

Capture, generation and moderation all run on the booth's own machine, and source frames are deleted once the approved output is produced. Only the final image, if the guest asked for a digital copy, and the consent record leave the booth. The gallery microsite issues per-image links rather than a browsable directory, so one guest's QR does not expose another guest's photograph. Staff have an override to void a capture and delete it immediately at the guest's request, without calling support.

Data privacy

A photograph of a face is among the most sensitive things an activation can collect, so consent here is split rather than bundled. The guest first agrees to be photographed and to the transform; separately, and later, they choose whether to give contact details for marketing. Declining the second does not cost them the print. Both decisions are recorded per image with a timestamp and language.

Retention is short and stated on screen: source frames are deleted at generation, generated images are held only for the gallery window agreed with the client — commonly days rather than months — and images are deleted on request without needing a formal process. Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 the event owner is the controller; no facial recognition, matching or biometric template is created, and images are not used to train models.

Cultural review is a scheduled step here, not a caveat. Style sets are reviewed before the event for modest framing and appropriate imagery, and the approved set is what the booth can produce — there is no prompt box for a guest to type into. For events where photography of some guests may be unwelcome, the booth is positioned so that queuing and capture are not visible from the main circulation route, and a staff-approval step before print is the norm rather than the exception.

Limitations & prerequisites

  • Throughput has a hard ceiling of roughly 45–60 guests an hour per booth once capture, generation, moderation and printing are counted. More reach means more booths.
