What an RFID system does, in one paragraph

RFID identifies tagged items by radio instead of by line-of-sight scanning. A handheld reader can count hundreds of tagged assets in a room in minutes, and a fixed reader at a door or dock records each tagged item that passes. The value is not the read itself. It is the record that follows: an asset register that stays current, a stock count that does not need a weekend shutdown, and an alert when something leaves a zone it should not.

The parts of an RFID system

Tags. Paper labels for cartons, hard tags for equipment, on-metal tags for IT hardware, racks and tools, and high-temperature or embedded tags for harsh environments. Metal and liquids detune ordinary tags, which is the most common reason RFID pilots disappoint. Our tag finder narrows the choice; the site survey confirms it.

Readers. Handheld readers for audits and searches, fixed readers with antennas for doors, docks and workstations, and RFID printers that print and encode labels in one pass. We design with hardware from established RFID manufacturers, including Zebra, Impinj-based readers and Chainway handhelds, and choose by the read zone rather than by brand.

Gates and portals. A gate is antennas, a reader, a direction sensor and a rule. The hard part is stopping stray reads from items standing near the door, which is solved with antenna placement, power tuning and direction logic, and proven on site before handover.

Software. The register and workflows: registration, movement, audit, disposal. Swedish Technology deploys the platforms it offers (Octopus WMS for warehouses, MOWQIE where live location is needed) or integrates RFID events into the system you already run.

Integration with SAP, Oracle, Odoo and other systems

RFID should feed the system of record, not become a second one. We filter raw reads into business events, such as received, moved, issued, returned or missing, and post them to SAP, Oracle, Odoo or another platform through its API. Each integration is built and tested for your data model rather than sold as a pre-certified connector.

How an RFID project runs

A single-area proof of concept is typically measured in weeks. A full rollout depends mostly on the number of assets to tag, cabling and power at reader positions, and integration scope.

RFID or something else?

RFID is not always the answer. Barcodes and QR codes are cheaper per item where items are handled one at a time. BLE and UWB are better where you need continuous live position rather than a read at a checkpoint (see RTLS). GPS covers vehicles outdoors. Many sites combine them; the survey decides.

Questions buyers ask

How much does an RFID system cost in the UAE? It depends on the number and type of tags (on-metal tags cost more than paper labels), the number of fixed read points, and integration scope. We quote after a survey, with the tag, reader and software lines itemised.

Can RFID work on metal assets? Yes, with on-metal tags designed for it. Ordinary labels fail on metal; tag choice and placement are tested during the survey.

Do you supply hardware only, or complete systems? Both. We supply tags, readers, printers and gates from our catalogue, and deliver complete systems including software and integration.

Can RFID data go into our ERP? Yes. We post filtered business events to SAP, Oracle, Odoo or custom systems through their APIs.

Can it run on-premises? Yes. Deployments can run entirely inside your network for government and regulated environments.
